Kimye got North West name from gossip mags

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West decided on 'North West' as a baby name after rumours of the name spread in gossip magazines.

Sometimes baseless rumours can lead to truth - at least that's how North West was named.
Kim Kardashian has revealed how she and Kanye West only settled on the unorthodox name for their little girl after American Vogue editor Anna Wintour and singer Pharrell Williams suggested they run with the gossip.
The 33-year-old reality TV star told GQ magazine that she and her rapper husband had never previously taken the rumours they'd call their daughter after a compass point seriously.
"It was a rumour in the press and we'd never really considered it seriously, at all, but Kanye and I were having lunch about a year ago and Pharrell came over to us and said, 'Oh, my God, are you guys really going to call your daughter North? That is the best name'," Kardashian told the magazine.
"I said, 'No we're not, that's just a rumour'."

"Then a little while later Anna Wintour came over and asked the same thing. She told us, 'North is a genius name'.
"Kanye and I looked at one another and just laughed. I guess at that point it sort of stuck," she said.
Fifteen-month-old North West has already featured in Vogue, modelling in the April issue alongside her famous parents.
Kardashian, who was announced as Woman of the Year at last week's GQ Men of the Year ceremony in London, appears completely naked on the cover of GQ's October issue.
Wearing nothing but a pair of killer pink heels, the saucy photos show the star writhing around on silk sheets that strategically cover her modesty.
Kimye are currently in Australia with North for the rapper's Yeezus tour.
