Emma Watson on Nude Photo Scandal: Lack of Empathy Even Worse Than Privacy Breach

Watson lamented the "lack of empathy" shown by social media users over the breech of privacy that saw hundreds of intimate celebrity photos leaked.

The Jennifer Lawrence nude photos hit particularly close to home for Emma, as the two stars are friends. Watson personally has yet to be victimized.
Nevertheless, she decried the scandal on Twitter, writing:
"Even worse than seeing women's privacy violated on social media is reading the accompanying comments that show such a lack of empathy."
At least one prominent female actress would agree.
Girls star Lena Dunham called the hacker a sex offender and lambasted fans who said the celebs brought it on themselves for taking nude pics to begin with.
Among others cyber-violated by this 4Chan user include Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst and Kaley Cucoo.
Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande have both said that the alleged nude pictures of them are fake, while Lawrence’s spokesperson verified their authenticity.
In response to a revealing Kate Upton topless photo, her reps said they are “looking into” the authenticity of the images and ready to take legal action.
The 4Chan hacker claims to have a Jennifer Lawrence sex video, though he has yet to post that online (ditto most of his alleged treasure trove).
Meanwhile, the FBI is investigating the apparent iCloud breach that allowed the provocative images to be stolen in one of the leak's biggest scandals.
